In Cuba, the sugar industry is just a shadow of itself

While Cuba experienced in 2021 one of the worst sugar harvests in its history, the new harvest, launched in mid-December, which is expected to last 77 days, promises to be just as catastrophic.

The harvest of sugar cane, the
