Éric Martin / Le Figaro Magazine

This report invites you to travel to the sources of a grandiose and little-known Africa, between Egyptian temples, Nubian necropolises and Christian monasteries.

The discreet charm of Cotentin

The fort of Vauville, built in 1760 on the beach of La Devise, is a rare lodging where the enchantment of the site sublimates a simple picnic.

Éric Martin / Le Figaro Magazine

Back to France for this report produced in March and devoted to this French peninsula located in Normandy.

Journalist Laurence Haloche and photographer Éric Martin knocked on the door of this "

Finistère closest to Paris

", in the words of Jacques Prévert, to discover its green landscapes and its culinary traditions: on the menu, oysters and salmon from local waters.

But what marks the most is this coastline adorned with the blue of the sea and these cliffs "

rearing up facing the Channel

".

A beautiful spectacle to be savored, especially since it is not disturbed by any concrete infrastructure.

Only rocks, sometimes two billion years old, make up with this canvas of colors.

In Auvergne, a road trip by mountains and by van

On the borders of Cantal and Puy-de-Dôme, a bridge over the Rhue opens a window onto lush gorges.

Stanislas Fautré / Le Figaro Magazine

Back on the roads of France!

Journalist Jean-Bernard Carillet and photographer Stanislas Fautré boarded a converted van in June to explore the back roads of Auvergne.

Can we dream of better than Auvergne for a traveling discovery?

From the gorges of the Sioule to the margins of the Cévennes, you can let yourself be carried along by bush roads, in complete freedom and in nomadic mode, aboard a luxury fitted van.

Because between, on the one hand, the vintage and minimalist Volkswagen Combi for beatniks or surfers, and, on the other, the bulky and functional daddy's motorhome, a niche was free: that of the glamper van!

In search of Kythera, a romantic and forgotten Greek island

Cove in the heart of the village of Avlemonas.

Laurent Fabre

This report, made in April for the return of sunny days, is a tribute to the Greek island of Kythera, praised by painters and poets.

The island of Aphrodite inspires.

Yet few people have set foot there.

Located between Crete and the Peloponnese, at the meeting point of the Aegean and Ionian seas, its access is not the easiest.

Difficult to access and wild, it embodies a myth and a symbol: the ideal of beauty of the Greek islands.

A preserved jewel, it deserves to be discovered and respected for its authenticity.
