Jakarta-Sana
An earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale jolted the Indonesian islands of Kepulawan Barat Daya today.
Reuters quoted the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center as saying that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 200 km, but there were no reports of injuries or material damage.
It is noteworthy that Indonesia is often prone to earthquakes because it is located in a region called the Pacific Ring of Fire, where earthquakes and tremors are frequent.
