The Journalist Association issued a statement expressing its deep concern over the police arrests of high-level media and the search of the offices of news organizations with large amounts of news materials within a year, and urged the government to protect press freedom in accordance with the Basic Law.
In addition, the HKJA learned that the chairman, Chen Langsheng, was also taken away by the police this morning. He is now learning about the incident and has no further comment. If there is new information, it will be announced in due course.
