Daraa Governorate celebrated today the 70th Tree Day within the Nassib border crossing site, with the participation of official, partisan and popular activities, where the participants planted about 2,000 various forest plants in the targeted site.
Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Bassam al-Hashish, said in a statement to SANA reporter that three hectares of hectares were planted at Nassib border crossing, with two thousand different forest plants, such as fruit pine, vertical cypress and fan palm.
Head of the Forestry Department in the Directorate, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, said in a similar statement that the Ministry of Agriculture launched four national afforestation campaigns on the 70th anniversary of the tree, indicating that the Forestry Department's plan for the new season includes afforestation of 100 hectares in different locations.
The celebration was attended by the Governor of Daraa, Eng. Louay Kharep, and the Secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch, Hussein Al-Rifai.
