To ensure the continuity of telecommunications and the Internet for all citizens, especially in light of the power outage, the Syrian Telecom Company is currently working on installing solar panels for 62 access units distributed over several governorates.
In a statement to SANA between the head of the capacity and air conditioning department in the company’s technical department, Engineer Ziad Al-Nahhas, that the company is working on installing solar panels for 62 access units distributed among 8 access units in Damascus countryside, 11 in each of the governorates of Homs and Latakia, 12 in each of Hama and Tartous, and 6 in each of the governorates of Homs and Lattakia. In As-Suwayda and 2 in Daraa, pointing out that their installation will be completed during January and February of next year.
Al-Nahhas indicated that the company has completed the installation of solar panels for 54 access units in several governorates, including one access unit in each of the governorates of Damascus and Hasaka, 5 in Damascus countryside, 4 in Homs, 3 in Hama, 20 in Aleppo, 4 in Tartous, 3 in Lattakia, 7 in As-Suwayda and 3 In both Daraa and Quneitra, he pointed out that there is a plan to install solar panels for all the remaining access units, successively and in batches.
