The audit is carried out at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Poultry Industry Council, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

State Comptroller Matanyahu Engelman will criticize the killing of hundreds of thousands of chickens due to suspicion of bird flu, which illustrates the risks of bird flu and the difficulties in implementing the chicken coop reform and the consequences for the consumer in Israel.

The audit takes place within the framework of the State Comptroller's Office regarding egg production in Israel in terms of the implementation of the reform in laying hens - especially in the north of the country and the transfer of the laying hens from the centers of the settlements.

The audit is carried out at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Poultry Industry Council, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

Comptroller Engelman will examine, among other things, the growing conditions of laying hens, the prices of eggs in the country compared to other countries and the types of support that farmers receive, morbidity rates in chicken coops, waste chicken coop treatment in the north and more.

It should be noted that Comptroller Engelman sees importance in auditing the consumer aspects - quality and price, the need to maintain the living conditions of the laying hens as is customary in the world as well as in a major economic industry in the north of the country and in communities adjacent to the northern border.
