A group of hijackers seized a truck belonging to the UPS delivery company, kidnapped its driver and stole an "incalculable" number of packages in a shameless robbery on Tuesday in Atlanta, according to local authorities.
The assault occurred around 3:30 a.m. (Eastern Time) when the truck stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Fulton Industrial Blvd and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in Georgia City.
An armed man got into the vehicle, according to police, forcing the UPS employee to drive to an isolated area near Hollowell and Bankhead Court.
There,
"the suspect, along with others, tied up the victim and stole the load from the tractor trailer
,
"
according to the Atlanta police statement.

A representative for Atlanta-based UPS declined to say how much was stolen.
But investigators told NBC affiliate WXIA-TV that they took less than a quarter of the load.
"We are grateful that our driver is safe, and we will refer questions to the investigating authorities," a company representative said in a statement Wednesday.
Atlanta Police Sgt. Jarius Daugherty said the driver wisely complied with all the suspects' demands.
"There is no property worth taking your life for," he
told television station WXIA-TV.
