On July 28 of the previous year, a police-civilian clash occurred in Central and Sheung Wan. 44 people were charged with riots and were dealt with in three cases. Among them, 14 defendants in the third case were tried for riots and other charges.
The case was decided in the West Kowloon Court today (30th), and Judge Lin Jinhong ruled all the defendants guilty.
The 14 defendants on trial: Chen Weilin (23 years old), Chen Zefeng (24 years old), Bu Ziqing (26 years old, female), Liang Zhipeng (22 years old), Yang Weixing (33 years old), Peng Yutong (22 years old, female), Liu Yaoquan (30 years old) Years old), Liao Songxian (32 years old), Chen Yongqi (30 years old, female), Lin Haozheng (24 years old), Liao Ziting (21 years old, female), Li Shuhua (23 years old), Hu Jiajun (23 years old) and Zhang Wenxi (21 years old), Alternate charges of being charged with riot and participating in illegal assembly.
Zhang Wenxi was also involved in the possession of a laser pointer and a radio communication device. She denied possession of offensive weapons in public places, but pleaded guilty to possessing radio communication devices without a license.
The charge is that they participated in the riot at the junction of Connaught Road West and Wenhuali.
1 defendant pleaded guilty and 2 people are at large
There were originally 17 defendants in the case. Among them, 19-year-old defendant He Baiyao pleaded guilty to a crime of riot. The other two defendants, Zhen Kaiying (24 years old, female) and Liao Tianjun (30 years old), had been absent from the hearing earlier, and the court had told them A wanted order is issued.
