The case was decided in the West Kowloon Court today (30th), and Judge Lin Jinhong ruled all the defendants guilty.
The case was adjourned to the 31st of next month for intercession, pending request for background reports for all defendants and reports from the reeducation center for male defendants under the age of 24.
Among them, all the defendants must be remanded in custody except for the 19-year-old defendant He Baiyao, who pleaded guilty before trial, who was released on bail awaiting sentencing.
The 14 defendants on trial: Chen Weilin (23 years old), Chen Zefeng (24 years old), Bu Ziqing (26 years old, female), Liang Zhipeng (22 years old), Yang Weixing (33 years old), Peng Yutong (22 years old, female), Liu Yaoquan (30 years old) Years old), Liao Songxian (32 years old), Chen Yongqi (30 years old, female), Lin Haozheng (24 years old), Liao Ziting (21 years old, female), Li Shuhua (23 years old), Hu Jiajun (23 years old) and Zhang Wenxi (21 years old), The same charged with riot.
Zhang Wenxi was also involved in the possession of a laser pointer and a radio communication device. She denied possession of offensive weapons in public places, but pleaded guilty to possessing radio communication devices without a license.
The charge is that they participated in the riot at the junction of Connaught Road West and Wenhuali.
1 defendant pleaded guilty and 2 people are at large
There were originally 17 defendants in the case. Among them, 19-year-old defendant He Baiyao pleaded guilty to a crime of riot. The other two defendants, Zhen Kaiying (24 years old, female) and Liao Tianjun (30 years old), had been absent from the hearing earlier, and the court had told them A wanted order is issued.

7.28 Conflict 3 cases, a total of 36 people convicted of riots
On the afternoon of July 28, 2019, there was a rally in Central. Afterwards, assemblers marched to the Sheung Wan area. In the evening, police and civilian clashes occurred in many places, and many people were arrested that night.
After the incident, the police charged 44 people with riots and charged them in 3 cases. Together with this case, 36 people have been convicted of riots, 2 people absconded, and 6 people were found not guilty.
In the 3 cases, there were only cases involving a couple of fitness coaches and a 16-year-old girl. All 3 people were found not guilty after interrogation. There were 17 and 24 defendants in the remaining two cases. Of the 17 defendants in this case, 14 were interrogated. Convicted, 1 person pleaded guilty, 2 persons absconded; another case involving 24 defendants, 3 persons were found not guilty after trial, 20 persons were convicted, and 1 person pleaded guilty. The 24 persons case will be held on January 8 next year. Sentenced on the day.
