The comeback of “Wetten, dass ...?” Should not be missing in any German-language annual review.
So the ARD invited a very special guest to the quiz.
Munich - The year 2021 once again held some surprises in store, and that also applies to the TV landscape.
Among other things, the German's favorite Saturday evening show “Wetten, dass ...?” * Returned for a one-off comeback.
For the 40th * anniversary, Thomas Gottschalk did the honors again and brought the most successful show in Europe to the screens in German-speaking countries.
Although Gottschalk is still the face of the show today, the founding father is Frank Elstner, who was honored for this at the comeback in November 2021.
As one of the biggest TV events of the year, “Wetten, dass ...?” Should of course not be missing in the annual reviews.
The
216th issue was also discussed in
the
ARD's
retrospective advice program “2021 - The Quiz”
with Frank Plasberg.
2021 - The quiz: Frank Elstner talks about Parkinson's disease
Frank Plasberg would have had a few guests to choose from.
Moderator Thomas Gottschalk *?
Bet king Leon Krampe?
The guests Joko and Klaas?
No, the show management decided instead for Frank Elstner, who appears less and less on TV due to his Parkinson's disease and thus surprised the audience and the guests around Günther Jauch, Barbara Schöneberger, Florian Silbereisen and Jan Josef Liefers.
The television legend told, among other things, about his book, in which he reports on his Parkinson's fate and wants to help draw more attention to it.
He wants to give science more opportunities to finally successfully fight the incurable neurological disease.
2021 - The quiz with the legendary Pömpeldart bet
Elstner did not come alone, however.
In his luggage he had the legendary “Pömpeldart” bet, which was already played in 2007 on a program.
Candidate Gerhard Donie from Bonn has to throw pommels at ten men and stick 20 pommels on the backs of the participants in two minutes.
Although the bet could not be won, the curious idea still provided entertainment in the studio and a spark of "Wetten, dass ...?" - nostalgia among the TV viewers.
Elstner created an emotional moment, addressed an important topic and brought the Pömpeldart bet back to television.
A successful conclusion to the “Wetten, dass ...?” Year 2021 and a nice surprise for all viewers.
