Munich - In several federal states, hospital patients have been counted as corona patients - even though they were admitted to the clinic for another reason and tested positive.

A spokeswoman for the State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) informed the radio station on request: "A respiratory normal patient with a broken leg, which was noticed during the general examination in the admission, would not have to be reported as a hospitalized COVID-19 patient".
And further: "The responsible doctors and the affected clinics have to report the hospitalized patients as COVID-19 patients if, in their judgment and medical assessment, it is a COVID-19 patient."

showed, however, that most clinics still report all those who tested positive to the LGL.
