Almost 60 countries are currently on the list of countries that the RKI classifies as high-risk areas.

There are now stricter travel rules for Italy and Malta.

Berlin - With Italy and Malta, the RKI has put two popular travel destinations for Germans on the list of Corona high-risk areas *. The travel warning level means further restrictions, especially for unvaccinated people: They have to be in quarantine for ten days when entering Germany from a high-risk country. After five days, however, you can “test yourself” with a negative test result. There is no quarantine requirement for vaccinated and recovered travelers.

The travel countries that the RKI added to the list of high-risk areas on January 1st include Italy and Malta as well as Canada and San Marino.

The African island state of Mauritius was removed from the list of high-risk areas.

All travelers returning to Germany from high-risk areas are also required to fill out a digital entry form in advance, which can be used to track chains of infection.
