For months there have been riots at demonstrations against the corona measures taken by the federal and state governments.
The Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) attributes the growing aggressiveness during the protests in part to the influence of right-wing extremists.
"There are people out there who want to question our republic," said Herrmann on Thursday in the WDR.
"We really have to defend ourselves against the beginnings of questioning our democracy here."
Herrmann: Corona may be secondary
The discussion about compulsory vaccinations brought a new boost to the lateral thinker scene. "You have to look at it soberly," said Herrmann. “On the other hand, it is also clear that more and more right-wing extremists - whether they are parts of the AfD or supporters of the NPD or the Third Way, really total right-wing radicalism - are trying to get into this area and do their thing here to cook. "Whether the content is about Corona is possibly of secondary importance. "They want to really damage our democracy, to attack the substance of our state."
Most recently, there had been violent attacks by demonstrators on police forces in Schweinfurt in Bavaria and in Bautzen in Saxony.
In Munich there was another large gathering of supporters of the anti-vaccination scene and so-called lateral thinkers on Wednesday evening.
The police used batons, among other things.
According to the police, around 700 reports of administrative offenses were filed and fines were imposed on two people who played an organizational role.
