Miesbach - At the Nordgraben in Miesbach, children should play again - everyone.

The start of an inclusive playground has now been initiated.

More than a year ago, fun was over at the Nordgraben in Miesbach: Due to safety deficiencies, the adventure playground had to be closed for the time being after 40 years. The city and the association Förderkreis Miesbach, which built the playground and has looked after it since then, will not let that sit on their own. The site will be reopened soon and should become something very special: Miesbach's first inclusive playground. The working group has now given the go-ahead for this.

In September there was a first cross-party decision of the Miesbach City Council on the playground. Just a few days later, a working group including the idea generator Alexandra Braunmiller and the disability officer Elisabeth Neuhäusler was formed, which is supposed to move the project forward quickly. It was important for the support group that the character of an adventure playground be preserved. "It was important to our city council that the planning had to be done in cooperation with the Miesbach development association," emphasizes City Councilor Erhard Pohl (CSU).

But not only the grown-ups are involved in the planning for the playground, but also the little playground experts: All kinds of painted suggestions came from the kindergartens Parsberg, Straß, Montessori, the Catholic kindergarten and the whirlwind daycare center as to what the children would like for the newly designed playground . Among them were very classic slides and swings, but also a labyrinth was on the wish list of the little ones. "The feedback from the children after our call was terrific, and we were all very happy in the group," says the working group. "It shows how popular the playground is with the Miesbachers."

There was professional support on the subject of inclusion from Lebenshilfe.

"If everyone - with or without a disability - can be there everywhere, then that is successful inclusion," explains the working group.

"Every child has the opportunity to play and have fun on the new inclusive playground."

The project is extraordinary and important, emphasizes Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller.

Miesbach's first inclusive playground will have space for all children, he said happily.

For the time being, however, there are no plans to redesign the other public playgrounds in the city, as they have only just been renovated.

"But in the future we will keep an eye on integrating inclusion," added City Councilor Franz Mayer.
