Life is returning to the old Eichenried schoolhouse

A school kindergarten and after-school care center will open in the Eichenried school building from February 1st.

Four years ago the Moosinningen local council decided to close the school in Eichenried.

Now life is coming back to the building: the community is temporarily setting up a school kindergarten and after-school care center there, sponsored by the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK).

It should start on February 1st.

- After the majority decision in the Moosinningen municipal council to close the Eichenried schoolhouse in November 2017, the committee and administration smoked their heads: How could the building continue to be used? At the beginning of 2019, the idea was already in the room to temporarily accommodate a crèche and kindergarten group. As reported, the decision was made in mid-November of this year to temporarily install a school kindergarten in Eichenried. Temporarily because the community is still planning a new building. Representatives of the BRK had presented themselves and the concept at the meeting at that time.

Now it is also clear what the facility will be called: A house for children (HfK) with the name “BunteRKunt” - which contains the abbreviation for the owner - will be launched in the old Eichenried school building.

"For the period from February to August 2022, the provider receives an operating permit that enables children from the age of four to attend kindergarten and after-school care," says the municipality's website.

The offer should particularly appeal to those parents in the community who have not yet received a kindergarten place, want to switch from another school kindergarten or after-school care center, or who will postpone their school-age child in 2022.

From September 1, 2022, the two-group offer will be realigned as a school kindergarten and elementary school after-school care center. From this date a maximum of 20 children could attend the school kindergarten, who will be postponed from school in 2022. With an educational concept specifically tailored to the school, they would be prepared for leaving school for a maximum of one year. A school kindergarten is therefore not an offer for children who are normally in the last year of kindergarten (pre-school).

25 primary school students could be looked after in the after-school care center. This offer enables parents to have full-day care during school and during the holidays. "The after-school care center enables learning and working conditions under which the children can independently do their homework and deepen school-based learning content," says the community's website. But games, fun and self-determined actions also played an important role.

The house for children "BunteRKunt" should be open Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A five-day visit is contractually planned.

In the school kindergarten, the core pedagogical time stipulates that the child must be present in the morning for several hours; the time spent in the after-school care center is based on the lesson times.

A booking from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. before the start of school is also possible.

All children could participate in lunch for a monthly lump sum of 70 euros.

This is freshly prepared every day in the Erdinger BRK children's home and delivered to Eichenried as hot meals.

The preparations for the opening of the house for children "BunteRKunt" from February 2022 are already in full swing.

In cooperation with the municipality of Moosinning, the equipment of the premises will be planned and put on the road.

Personnel recruitment as well as the business and conceptual preparations are incumbent on the BRK district association Erding.
