The projects implemented by the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment during the year 2021 varied between investment, service and development and included all governorates. and 61 percent for its affiliates.

The Ministry implemented 1,262 maintenance and rehabilitation projects, constructing school buildings, following up the rehabilitation of 17 hospitals and 37 health centers, following up on the implementation of three hospitals, and implementing projects to rehabilitate roads with a length of 752 km, creating new roads with a length of 620 km, implementing sewage networks with a total length of 147,745 km, building three cultural centers and rehabilitating 19 centers. culturally.

As for the industrial cities, the total volume of investments in the industrial cities of Adra, Hasya and Sheikh Najjar amounted to 117.158 billion pounds, and the total number of industrial and craft divisions allocated in the three cities was 519 divided over an area of ​​118.7 hectares.

The number of industrial, craft and administrative departments allocated reached 543 divided with an area of ​​12,306 hectares, the number of industrial and craft establishments that are under construction in the three cities is 206 establishments, the total number of establishments that are under restoration is 27, and the industrial and craft establishments that are under actual production are 117 establishments that have provided 6,065 job opportunities. Spending on infrastructure and acquisitions in the three cities is 8.25 billion pounds, and the net investment income has reached 25.37 billion pounds.

Industrial and craft areas had priority in the ministry’s work this year, as the number of these areas being tracked in all governorates reached 160, including 69,096 industrial and crafts divisions that provide more than 50,000 job opportunities. Allocating a financial appropriation of 2,800 million pounds to finance the industrial and craft areas from the ministry’s investment budget for the year 2021, which was implemented by one hundred percent.

The amount of solid waste disposed daily during the year amounted to about 14,035 tons, which is equivalent to about 433,389 tons per month and about 5,2000.668 million tons annually. In the governorates, 33 random waste dumps were rehabilitated, including 18 in Homs, 3 in Aleppo and 7 in Hama. Currently, 5 are being rehabilitated in Lattakia by transferring them to the Al-Bassa landfill. The total number of medical waste containers distributed to the governorates reached 475 containers, in addition to 10 tractors.

As for development projects, 43 projects have been completed, distributed in the governorates of Damascus, Rural Damascus, Idlib, Lattakia, Tartous, Homs, Hama, Deir Ezzor, Hasaka, Raqqa and As-Suwayda, with total appropriations amounting to 4.210 billion pounds.

The ministry was keen to expand the establishment of citizen service centers due to its importance in facilitating access to all services, as the number of current and invested centers reached 68 centers distributed in administrative units and real estate centers, and the number of electronic centers was 8, while the number of centers ready for investment, under construction and study reached 39.

With regard to the work of the General Directorate of Real Estate Interests, the identification and liberation plan for this year amounted to 3,600 hectares, 31,633 hectares were implemented until 30-9-2021, with an implementation rate of 88 percent, while the number of areas subject to beautification and common removal reached 23 areas, including the governorates of Damascus, Homs and Hama, and the number of survey teams was 131 The number of services provided experimentally in the service of the specialized citizen in the General Directorate of Real Estate Services from April until the end of last November reached 54,507 services.

With regard to the work of regiments, units and fire stations, the Ministry provided 63 vehicles to the firefighting regiments in the governorates, and the volume of works executed to date reached 15624, including various types of fires and accidents.

The Ministry paid great attention to relief work through works and projects that contributed to restoring basic services and enabling the return of the displaced to their homes, as 14 agreements, memoranda of understanding and country programs were prepared and signed with United Nations organizations and international organizations in the areas of shelter, non-food aid, water, sanitation, hygiene and reconstruction, in addition to 7 agreements under signature regarding the field of work of the Ministry.

The number of food baskets distributed until the 12th of November exceeded 8.570 million baskets and more than 267,557 health baskets. The Ministry also implemented other projects through the humanitarian response plan, the most important of which is the rehabilitation of 6,502 houses destroyed by terrorism, 109 hospitals and health centers, 46,629 meters of sewage networks and the installation of 1619 solar street lighting devices, reactivating three kilometers of electricity networks, rehabilitating 20 bakeries, 406 shops, 10 government buildings, 21 citizen service centers, rehabilitation and construction of roads with a length of 64,566 kilometers, 22 cultural centers, 19 transport stations, providing two vehicles for transporting waste to regular landfills, and distributing 70 medical containers.
