Former first lady Melania Trump is trying her hand at being an NFT trader.

Ex-First Lady Melania Trump is now involved in the art world.

She sells so-called NFTs - from herself.

Palm Beach - Since the handover to US President Joe Biden, Melania Trump seemed to have partially disappeared from the face of the earth.

The former first lady was previously not known for showing herself to the public.

But since moving out of the White House, Donald Trump's wife had become even quieter.

But after a long period of radio silence, Melania Trump has reported back in public - and with a business idea.

Melania Trump announced on Twitter that it would start a platform for the sale of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) - digitally protected originals - on its website.

“Part” of the proceeds should go to children.

How much she left open.

An NFT, i.e. Non-Fungible Token (in German roughly “non-exchangeable token”), is a protected file based on the architecture of blockchain technology.

This means that the unique token is linked to the plant and secured by the blockchain.

As a buyer of this art one has a certificate of authenticity of a file and thus the original.

In a written communication from Melania Trump's office, it said that she would offer such NFTs for sale at regular intervals in the future. The first is the limited edition of a “breathtaking watercolor painting” that shows the “cobalt blue eyes” of the former First Lady. The title of the digital work of art: "Melania's Vision". This includes a "message of hope" from Melania Trump. In this audio file she says: "My vision is: To look forward with inspiration, strength and courage."

This NFT is available until the end of December - according to their website for the equivalent of around 182 US dollars (160 euros).

A “one-time auction of historical importance” with further art will follow in January.

Melania Trump stated in the communication that the project embodies her "passion for art".

The former first lady had made herself very rare in public after her husband left the White House.

Her office said her new platform was being supported by Parler - a Twitter alternative popular with Trump supporters and right-wing Americans.
