In its last note, the Economic Analysis Council relaunches the debate on the taxation of inheritance by recommending a complete overhaul which would allow the collection of 12 billion more per year. Already in 2019, the government, through its spokesperson, announced that it wanted to look into this issue in a
“no-holds-barred reflection”
to
“fight against the progression of birth inequalities”.
The denial quickly brought by Emmanuel Macron could not hide that such a project is indeed present in the minds of many of our leaders.
