The Observatory predicts that the dry northeast monsoon will bring generally sunny weather to the south China coast in the next few days, and the area will remain cool in the morning.

Affected by the easterly airstream, Guangdong is expected to have more cloud cover in the middle to late next week with a few rain patches.


The new year will begin on Saturday (January 1). The Observatory expects a "warm hat" on New Year's Day. The weather is sunny and dry during the day, and the urban temperature has risen to between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius, which may become a record since 2007. After reaching a maximum of 21.1 degrees, it was the hottest New Year's Day in 15 years.

Saturday is New Year's Day. The Observatory is expected to be partly cloudy in the morning and sunny and dry during the day. The highest temperature on New Year's Day is expected to reach 21 degrees, which is quite warm.

The last New Year’s Day with a temperature of 21 degrees or above will be counted to 2007, so the New Year’s Day temperature in 2022 has the opportunity to hit a 15-year high.

As for the "hottest" New Year's Day on record, it was 25.6 degrees recorded in 1956.

The observatory is expected to be unstable in the middle and late next week.

Next Wednesday (January 5) is the "Xiaohan" of the 24th High School, which means that the weather is dry and cold, but it has not yet reached the coldest time of winter.

The Observatory predicts that there will be sunshine for a short period of time next Wednesday, with one or two rain showers.

As for the temperature, it is expected that the temperature will rise further to between 19 and 22 degrees.
