According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence has risen again nationwide, from 205.5 the previous day to 207.4 today.

Within 24 hours, 42,770 new corona infections were reported to the RKI and thus 2157 cases less than a week earlier.

Last Thursday there were 44,927 positive test results.

In connection with the corona pandemic, 383 people died across Germany within 24 hours, increasing the number of deaths to a total of 111,602.

In Germany there have been a total of 7.1 million positive corona tests since the beginning of the pandemic.

In fact, the incidence in Germany could be significantly higher than the currently published values ​​indicate.

Due to the public holidays in particular, the actual pandemic situation is probably not adequately represented by the statistics.

A celebration as safe as possible should therefore also be ensured over New Year's Eve, especially in view of the highly infectious Omikron variant.
