The 12th player against Israel Israel today

The international campaign against Israel is escalating, and the High Court is in fact taking sides • Establishing a permanent framework with permanent funding from the UN for anti-Israel investigations means a policy of demonization

A large majority of UN member states approved last week at the General Assembly huge funding in huge sums for a "commission of inquiry" set up by the UN Human Rights Council.

The committee was established in May this year and its purpose is to deny the right to exist of Israel, in other words - to train any aggression against it.

The new commission is an unprecedented escalation of the political war that the UN is waging against Israel. To understand the danger, we must understand the working method of Israel's enemies at the UN and their allies in Europe and in Israel itself. When it was established in 2006, the Human Rights Council engraved on its banner a demonization of Israel and the Jewish people who see it as their homeland. Council members determined that the "human rights situation in Palestine and other Arab territories" occupied by Israel would become a permanent item on the agenda of every Council meeting. No country receives such a unique discriminatory treatment. Since 2006, the Council has met 19 times to discuss human rights violations attributed to the rest of the world, and nine times to special conventions only against Israel.

The method of demonization against Israel has been established for years.

At the end of every Palestinian campaign against Israel, the representatives of the PLO chairman, Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas, request a special meeting to discuss the "war crimes" that Israel allegedly committed.

The council immediately convenes, Israel receives every condemnation possible, and a "commission of inquiry" is set up to "investigate" the "war crimes."

Hamas, Fatah and their comrades do not receive any attention for their war crimes.

And of course, at the end of an "in-depth investigation" by appointed investigators with extremist anti-Israel views, a report comes out stating that Israel has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Europe, the guiding hand

And here comes the second factor in the campaign, European countries.

In all the council's decisions to establish anti-Israel commissions of inquiry, there is a call for NGOs to submit "evidence" that will substantiate the allegations against Israel.

Israeli, Palestinian and Western organizations are responding to the request.

Then in the report stating that Israel is to blame for everything, including the drought on the moon, there are plenty of quotes from the reports of Israeli organizations.

European governments are the main funding and directing factor of almost all of these organizations.

As MK Amichai Shikli clarifies, who together with MK Katie Sheetrit organized a special conference in the Knesset that was supposed to discuss the issue last week, this is a "European war against Israel."

As a sign of the strength of the campaign and the commitment of the Europeans to its advancement and continuation, the European Union exerted pressure on the Speaker and the Knesset Secretariat to bring about the cancellation of Shikli and Shitrit's conference.

The reports produced by the Human Rights Council and the commissions of inquiry it sets up form the basis for various boycotts carried out by European officials against Israel.

The third factor in Israel's demonization campaign is the legal establishment in Israel.

This past weekend, the Haaretz newspaper published an interview with retired Supreme Court Justice Menachem (Meni) Mazuz.

Between the lines, Mazuz explained the lawyers' method of turning anti-Israel reports into a "law." The interview with Mazuz dealt extensively with his judicial activity to prevent the demolition of terrorist homes.

Explains Prof. Avi Bell, an international law expert at the Faculty of Law at Bar-Ilan, "The law clearly states that the laws demolish terrorists' houses, and there are dozens of court rulings based on law, confirmed by the illegal demolition."

Mazuz explained that for many years opposed For house demolition: "I thought house demolition was an immoral, illegal move, and its effectiveness was questionable."

But until he reached the Supreme Court, he lacked the authority to ignore the law and dozens of High Court rulings.

Once Mazuz was appointed to the Supreme Court, he began to work to turn his ideological preference into a "law", based on the "positions of legal scholars" in Israel and abroad, as well as the UN Human Rights Council.

Playing with the law

"The ruins are causing us daily international damage," Mazuz says. "Do you think these things stay here? They do not go up every year to the human rights committees in Geneva, and to international forums?"

In other words, Mazuz clarified that the anti-Israel reports of the Human Rights Committee, which is hostile to the existence of Israel, constitute an excuse for the decisions of High Court judges; These decisions deny Israel the right to act in accordance with the law in a way that the government and the heads of the defense establishment see fit in the fight against Palestinian terrorism.

As Prof. Bell clarifies, decisions of UN institutions (except the Security Council) have no meaning in international law. Decisions of the Human Rights Council, like those of other UN institutions, are political documents devoid of any legal status. Mazuz and his colleagues take advantage of the ignorance of the public and the helplessness of the Knesset and the government to make these political documents - issued by essentially anti-Israel bodies - a "law", through a variety of rulings.

And this brings us to the Permanent Commission of Inquiry whose funding has been permanently approved by the General Assembly. The new committee was set up at a special meeting of the Human Rights Council, immediately after Operation Guardian of the Walls. As Prof. Ann Beiewski explained in a report published by the Jerusalem Center for Public and State Affairs, the mandate of the new committee is in fact unlimited. An investigation based on "evidence" provided by European-funded organizations on "war crimes" of Israelis that will serve as a basis for indictments against elected officials, IDF commanders and soldiers, and residents of Judea and Samaria and the United Jerusalem, "in" political "courts M.

The commission is also expected to issue "recommendations on measures to be taken by third parties" to ensure that they do not help Israel commit all the crimes against humanity that it is allegedly committing.

This means that the committee will publish reports that will serve as a basis for imposing economic boycotts on Israel by European government officials and foreign companies.

Israel has no choice but to fight against the commission and anyone who uses reports that are devoid of any connection to its reality. Israel is committed to making sure that the commission's antisemitic propaganda does not become a "law" through radical judges and legal advisers. War against us, and bring back a hair-raising war.
