Think about the children: How to choose a kindergarten or nursery? | Israel today

2021-12-30T11:11:08.483Z

What is the correct ratio between the number of children and the number of caregivers? What is the availability of the kindergarten teacher? What activities do children have? And what is the level of maintenance in the garden? • Everything you need to know when choosing a kindergarten

In recent years, in light of the proliferation of toddler abuse, parents' awareness of choosing a framework for their children has risen.

If in the past parents would choose a kindergarten based on recommendations or proximity to home, today there are many more questions that parents ask, such as what training the caregivers have, how many children there are in the kindergarten, what is the numerical ratio between caregivers and what training do caregivers have.

These questions are important, of course, but to them must be added a few other issues that are very important for the development of the child, especially when it comes to kindergartens.

Meals -

Are the meals cooked in the garden?

Is lunch meaty?

Do you use processed products like frozen schnitzels?

Are children given fresh fruits and vegetables?

Price -

What is the price per month?

Does the price include circles?

Insurance?

And to parents?

Do you get a discount if you pick up the child at noon?

Safety -

Are the windows and doors protected?

Are there any protruding or swaying floors?

Is the kitchen closed for children to enter?

Are the detergents stored separately?

Is there insurance for children?

Do not hesitate to ask to see the policy.

Are the staff all qualified to provide first aid?

Is there a first aid kit accessible in any compound or floor?

Contact with the community -

Where do most children come from in kindergarten?

Is it from the neighborhood, from the city or from neighboring cities?

Do the children sometimes leave the kindergarten compound for activities in the area?

Is there cooperation with other neighborhood or municipal entities?

Parental Involvement -

How do

parents

update on what is happening in the kindergarten?

Weekly email, notes, signs at the entrance to the garden?

How involved are the parents in the decisions made in kindergarten?

By law, every child between the ages of 3 and 5 has the right to register and be admitted to a public kindergarten.

Registration for public kindergartens is free.

The municipality can not condition the registration for the public park on a fee for a feed plant, cultural basket or anything else, at the time of registration.

How much does a private garden cost?

In the center of the country, prices range from NIS 2,700 to NIS 4,200, while in Tel Aviv the cost is the most expensive.

In the periphery, prices range from NIS 2,000 to NIS 2,800.
