At the moment there is no Christmas rest in the vaccination centers in Wolfratshausen and Bad Tölz.
Currently around 750 to 800 doses are administered there every day, as District Office spokeswoman Marlis Peischer tells our newspaper when asked.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - On Christmas Eve, the two vaccination centers in the district also worked until 2 p.m.
According to district office spokeswoman Marlis Peischer, exactly 184 people picked up their spades before the gifts were presented.
However, the vaccination centers were then closed on the Christmas holidays.
By far the largest part, namely 90 percent, booster vaccinations are currently being administered.
According to Peischer, the second vaccinations make up eight, the first vaccinations only two percent.
District administrator draws a positive balance after a year of vaccination
One year after the start of the vaccination campaign, District Administrator Josef Niedermaier now draws an overall positive balance, but also addresses some problems.
The on-site infrastructure was in good shape right from the start, he explains.
“Unfortunately, there were always difficulties at the beginning with the BayImco vaccination software, which was rolled out far too late by the Free State,” says Niedermaier.
Until May, the permanent shortage of the vaccine was also problematic.
“Vaccine deliveries were announced over and over again, but they did not come, or only partially,” said the district administrator.
"That often led to incomprehension and anger, and you could feel that everywhere."
In July and August there was a "vaccination hole"
Despite the initial difficulties, the vaccination then "really picked up speed" - until "a strong vaccination hole" followed in July and August.
"Sometimes hardly anyone came to the vaccination." From September 1, vaccination was carried out according to a new concept: with mobile vaccination teams.
"A maximum of 180 vaccinations could be carried out daily."
Rebooting the vaccination centers was a challenge
At the same time, the number of infections rose again, the general conditions changed, and booster vaccinations were in demand.
"It was a challenge to start up the vaccination centers again - especially when it came to the staff." All the ups and downs meant that "staff were worn out".
“The search is becoming more and more difficult,” says Niedermaier.
The first vaccination concepts from 2020 were only intended for brevity.
“Against this background, we did everything right on site and practiced a kind of 'living in a situation'”, so Niedermaier's balance sheet.
In the vaccination centers, the vaccination went "mostly well".
