Kam Tin Public Mongolian School is a village school in Kam Tin District with only nine classrooms. It was founded in 1926 by the local squire, Deng Boqiu, JP, and has a long history.

For more than half a century, the school has adhered to the spirit of the school motto "Loyalty, Diligence, and Simplicity", and has been committed to promoting whole-person education.

The school has gone through the changes of the times in the quaint hemp stone, gold-shaped roof, and courtyard-style buildings, but it has kept pace with the times.

Last school year, the school received a grant of 930,000 from the Quality Education Fund to transform the music room into a multi-purpose scientific and creative room with the original music room function.

On the open day and the day of the English demonstration class, the school opened the Science and Technology Innovation Room for outside visits for the first time.

As soon as a group of kindergarten students stepped into the science and technology innovation room, they were attracted by the images projected on the floor.

This is an interactive floor learning platform. It mainly matches the content of the subject and the form of games for group activities or competitions, allowing students to learn in a pleasant environment through physical activities.

Established a science innovation room dedicated to cultivating 4C talents

Principal Zeng Zhuolong said that the purpose of establishing the Science and Technology Innovation Room is to allow students to develop their ability to explore and solve problems through new teaching technology and related school-based courses, thereby nurturing students to become 4C talents.

4C stands for creativity, collaboration ability, communication ability, and the ability to think and discern. It is regarded as the ability that talents in the 21st century must have together.

In order to achieve the above goals, the General Studies Department will take the lead in selecting appropriate topics and use the equipment in the science innovation room, including interactive floor learning platforms, virtual reality glasses, and smart robots to conduct group activities or competitions.

During the learning process, students can not only gain a deeper understanding of the learning content, but also understand how to apply these technologies in daily life through exposure to 3D technology and artificial intelligence.

For example, teachers add a link to interact with intelligent robots in the classroom, and through the interactive programs of robots, students can be more engaged in learning.

In addition, the Chinese Department also cooperates with the unit related to the new world of science and technology. First, students are asked to search for information about the robot Kebbi through the Internet, sort and summarize the functions of the robot, use the sentence patterns learned to integrate the data, and upload it to the Padlet platform for sharing .

In order to further induce students' creativity and problem-solving ability, the teacher asked the students to use the functions of the robot Kebbi as a blueprint to conceive an intelligent style robot for the school, and use various explanatory techniques to introduce the appearance and functions of the robot.

Make good use of life-wide learning grants to provide students with diverse learning experiences

In order to further enhance students' inquiry and problem-solving abilities, the school uses the life-wide learning allowance to organize learning training classes on programming intelligent robots.

In addition to understanding the operation and functions of programming robots, the course also teaches programming and game programs to understand how to use AI technology in daily life to make society a better place.

With the rapid development of information technology and the new normal after the epidemic, schools are following the pace of social development, not only adding appropriate school hardware, but also making various new attempts in curricula and teaching methods, in order to cultivate Mongolian students to become the new generation of 4C talents!
