Utting - Around 15 rioting bullies have done the vast majority of well-behaved young people in Utting a disservice.

At Christmas they populated the station area loudly and drunk, according to the observations of a dispatcher.

They responded to his admonitions by blindly destroying the men's room.

This attack of aggression caused a "treat" in the town hall and the local council. Because the final consultations are currently underway on the construction of an expensive youth center in or near the station shed. It should now be clear to every proponent that this will only work under the guidance of an experienced social worker with a strict usage concept and fixed opening times.

At the last municipal council meeting of the past year, the architect Helgo von Meier presented the revised conversion and use concept of the “Refugium”, as the entire complex of shed, atrium and extension will be called in future. He was supported by Martin “Miene” Gruber, who had carried out a public participation procedure on behalf of the municipality (the KREISBOTE reported). 187 of the 213 submitted proposals clearly wanted a youth center, whereby “the youth has the house to themselves.” The rest voted for further public uses for clubs, culture and music. Martin Gruber: “A compromise of both interests would be that the youth have control over the usage. Like a shooting club, where you can have private parties or external events when the shooters aren't there. "

According to Gruber, direct residents and neighbors also came to the station shed, which was specially opened and secured for the campaign.

They were consistently open to a “juze” and the free development of young people, but with a very big “but”: their desire for nocturnal rest will therefore remain a “crucial point for better or for worse” in the planning. These two positions you have to bring them into harmony with each other as well as possible.

Too small for parties

Since the space in the shed, which is only 76 square meters in size, is already too small "for relaxed get-togethers with table football, sofas, parties and concerts", some young people spontaneously came up with the idea of basing the planned extension. So far, the only assumption was an atrium with glass walls and emission-proof roller doors to reduce noise between the shed and the annex. In any case, you have to involve a specialist planner for noise protection, says Helgo von Meier. The residents' fears about too much noise have to be taken very seriously.

After evaluating public participation, the architect had already "sketched out" the basement of the extension and presented it to the local council. The 80 square meter party room can be exposed through windows in a courtyard facing the railroad tracks. The new building with the necessary infrastructure such as heating, toilets, kitchen, cloakroom and storage should be understood in connection with the renovated storage shed "as a spatially and urban-enriching unit". The connection to the shed becomes visible through the same ridge height, roof pitch and width. With the ensemble of the two buildings and the lockable outdoor space in between, “a lively, public and at the same time protective place for youth, clubs, music, culture and community” could be created.

According to the local council Dr.

Nikolaus Högenauer (Greens / GAL) created an "egg-laying woolly milk sow", which thanks to the combined possibilities of use, brings all interests under one roof.

However, this has its price: The estimated total amount for the renovation of the shed and an extension with a basement would double to around two million euros.

According to the government of Upper Bavaria, however, one can apply for funding for the entire project.

The municipal council has now entrusted the administration with this.
