This Wednesday, the Ministry of Health issued an epidemiological alert with greater attention in the National District, Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago and San Cristóbal, due to the increases in covid-19 cases in recent days.

The authorities exhorted the population of those jurisdictions to "not lower their guard" and complete the vaccination schedule.

As a preventive measure as a result of the omicron variant, the Ministry of Public Health published a resolution on Monday that establishes that as of January 31, 2022, the vaccination card against covid-19 with the third dose scheme will be required in over 18 years.

In addition, the health portfolio announced that a fourth optional booster dose will be enabled in health personnel, pharmacists, in those over 60 years of age, in immunosuppressed people, with diabetes, hypertension, kidney failure and cancer.
