A private safe complex on Ehad Ha'am Street in Tel Aviv was robbed yesterday (Thursday) in the evening.

According to initial information held by police, the robbers entered a building that was secure and took over the guard who was at the scene.

They forced him and threatened him, then left the compound with a lot of money and property they had taken from dozens of safes.

A special investigation team was set up in the Yarkon area of the police to locate those involved.

At this point, it is not yet possible to estimate the value of the money robbed.

The website of the company that rents the safes states that they are located in a luxurious safe room, which covers an area of about 500 square meters and is secured with the highest level of safety.

In robberies that have occurred so far in Israel, the thieves used to quietly break into safes and collect the loot from them for long hours.

One of the most memorable cases was the burglary of safes at Discount Bank, in the main branch on Yehuda Halevi Street, about 19 and a half years ago.

This is a case that to this day the Tel Aviv police have not been able to decipher.

In this case, the robbers broke into 451 safes and stole, as far as is known, a loot of about $ 25 million, valuable jewelry and diamonds.

All this within two days during which they stayed at the bank.

Police then estimated that at least four thieves were involved in the burglary, and investigators were even able to produce a DNA sample, but they did not reach the suspects.

The police interrogated hundreds of people in those days, including bank employees, renovation contractors, criminals, workers in nearby buildings and also shopkeepers, but the investigators obtained nothing from them.
