Nuremberg: Crimes are falling, a new enemy was added
According to the police's crime statistics, crimes are expected to decline since 2016.
But then a new enemy came along in 2020: Corona!
Checking all the related requirements requires a lot of staff.
For this purpose, the city of Nuremberg developed a control concept together with the Bavarian police, "in order to consistently and effectively monitor violations of the infection protection regulations".

In addition to Corona, the police also have to struggle with another lousy number: For some time, older citizens in Nuremberg have been tricked on the phone with so-called "grandchildren" tricks.
The police are trying to inform the population about the novel phenomenon, but not all of them succeed.
For the future, König would like state and federal politics to have reliable legal bases and corresponding financial support in the fight against crime.
