Italy is considered a bad risk area - and the German corona chaos is entering its third year

The shortcomings are still those of day one of the corona pandemic, comments Mike Schier - although we are already in the third year.
We are entering the third year of the pandemic - but the shortcomings are still those of day one. Presumably, no one can say for sure, there is a sharp increase in the number of Omicron cases in Germany as well. The Minister of Health estimates the actual number two to three times higher than the statistics. And because Karl can appreciate Lauterbach so well, he is announcing further restrictions on basic rights in the coming week. On suspicion, so to speak.
If the pandemic doesn't tire you, then the never-ending government inadequacies will take care of that.
Because Christmas was suddenly pushed into the schedule on December 24th, many authorities do not report their numbers and the vaccination campaign stutters.
Enough has been written about the inadequacies of what is supposedly the world's best health system in the last few weeks.

As a society, it would be best if we would end the old year with thanks to all those who are at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic in hospitals and homes.

And all together we pledge a little humility towards other countries.
On Sunday we will declare Italy and Malta to be bad "risk areas" again.
Just because they know what their corona numbers are.
