New Year's Eve of December 31: what we will have the right to do or not do this evening

2021-12-31T16:04:44.610Z

If the government has not recommended a gauge at the table, the French are urged to be cautious. Precautions have been taken in this direction: cancellation of fireworks, ban on gathering in the street.

"

For the New Year's Eve on December 31, [...] let's limit the big parties and the big dinners, wear the mask, ventilate the rooms, respect the barrier gestures, let's test ourselves

", hammered the Prime Minister Jean Castex on December 27 .

While contaminations are erupting in France (206,243 new cases between Wednesday and Thursday), he appealed "

to the

good sense of the French

".

Overview of what we will have the right (or not!) To do this evening.

No curfew except in Martinique

Unlike last year, the French will not be required to return at 8 p.m. ... except in Martinique where the curfew is maintained (from 8 p.m.) due to the pandemic.

As of December 27, the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants stood at 319 cases, which is significantly lower than in Paris: 2288. But the vaccination coverage is much lower.

In Reunion, last opportunity to party since the measure will come into force on January 1 to 23 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Nightclubs closed, ban on dancing in bars and restaurants

Originally closed since December 10 for four weeks, nightclubs will receive an additional three weeks from January 3.

It will also be impossible to waddle around in bars and restaurants, which however will not apply a gauge.

But customers will - again - be able to consume standing up since the ban will be effective from January 3.

Throughout France, drinking establishments will also have to lower the curtain at 2 a.m. (Île-de-France, Aquitaine, Haute-Savoie ...).

No fireworks, no rally, no alcohol on the public highway

On December 17, Jean Castex asked the mayors to give up the festivities specific to New Year's Eve (concerts, fireworks ...).

"

The prefects will prohibit wild gatherings, the consumption of alcohol on the public highway

".

In addition to these national measures, the City of Paris (apart from the Bois de Boulogne and Vincennes) has reinstated the wearing of a compulsory mask outdoors this Friday.

Violators risk a fine of 135 euros if they do not wear a mask.

In Lyon as in Villeurbanne, it is also becoming the norm, except between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Other territories, again with local specificities, were quick to follow suit: Val-d'Oise, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, Bouches-du -Rhône, Charente-Maritime ...

No gauge in private parties

Small consolation prize, the executive did not recommend any gauge for private parties.

In 2020, he invited the French not to be more than six at the table.

It remains to be seen to what extent they will follow the indications formulated by the Prime Minister.
