Not answering call for transplant, tracked by Cc

He was awaiting an urgent liver transplant but the hospital was unable to get in touch with him to warn him that there was an organ available. So the carabinieri intervened and tracked down the patient. It happened at dawn this morning in Piacenza: a doctor from the transplant center of the Modena polyclinic contacted the Piacenza carabinieri saying that the patient's phone, on the waiting list for the transplant, was ringing empty. A patrol from the mobile radio unit then went to the 47-year-old's home, warning him that he had to go urgently to the hospital. The man, however,he reported that he did not have the means to go immediately to Modena to the hospital and for this reason the carabinieri did their best by putting him in contact with 118 health and paramedical personnel to find a suitable means of recovery and transport of the same.
