The Garmisch ski area was literally overrun.

But not everyone was allowed to waggle down the snow slopes.

No corona vaccination helped either.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Hausberg car park: occupied.

Kreuzeck car park: occupied.

Eibsee car park: occupied.

Ticket sales for the Zugspitze: discontinued.

Already on Wednesday morning (December 29th) the guests in Garmisch-Partenkirchen read this on the notice boards in town.

The joy that the ski lifts are running again is great.

However, the thaw hit the lower-lying ski areas.

That is why there are all the more romping about on the Garmisch slopes.

All parking spaces on the Hausberg were already occupied at 9:30 a.m.

Sometimes you had to queue for half an hour for the coveted lift ticket.

Reason: the 2G controls.

You have to be vaccinated or recovered to use the mountain railways and ski lifts.

Then it means waiting again at the gondolas: Only 75 percent of the capacity may be used due to the Corona * pandemic, six instead of eight passengers are allowed in the Hausbergbahn, seven instead of nine on the Kreuzeck.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen: Some ski fans were not allowed on the slopes

If you got up too late, you might have bad luck.

The Bayerische * Zugspitzbahn (BZB) will stop selling tickets on a daily basis in the Garmisch Classic ski area with more than 7,000 visitors.

You reached that many on Tuesday, for example.

On the Zugspitze, the ticket sales ended yesterday at 10.30 a.m.

A maximum of 2000 snowboard fans are allowed on the slopes here.

Incidentally, the slopes in neighboring Austria are not that full.

This is because you either have to be boosted upon entry or have to present a PCR test, which costs a lot of money.

It costs even more without.

Then fines of up to 1450 euros are due.

This ensures that the rush in Garmisch is even greater.

High season is currently due to the winter holidays anyway.

"It is quite normal that it rattles a lot, especially on nice days," says BZB spokeswoman Verena Altenhofen.

Further: "The people are just happy that they are there." She had heard that a lot on the mountain these days.

In return, the guests also accept waiting times.
