More than 475,000 Tesla cars have been recalled due to technical defects that can increase the risk of accidents.
There have been two recalls, one linked to the rear view camera on the Tesla Model 3 and the other to the front trunk on the Model S.
The recall nearly equals Tesla's total global deliveries last year, with just under 500,000 total cars delivered in 2020, according to Tesla's annual report.
Two voluntary recall reports were filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and Tesla stores and service centers were notified last week of the recalls.

All Model 3 cars made between 2017 and 2020, a total of 356,309 vehicles, are being recalled due to a cable that, over time, can separate after wear and tear, blocking power to the rear view camera.

A significant number of Model S cars are also being recalled, due to front trunk latch issues that could cause the hood to pop open unexpectedly.
A total of 119,009 vehicles have a defective trunk latch, according to NHTSA records.
Tesla began investigating the front trunk issue in January 2021 after one was opened while a Tesla Model S was in Drive, according to one of the reports.
The company began investigating the camera issue in June 2021 after noticing a "potential trend" in wiring harness consumption at its service centers, according to the other report.

The recalls follow a federal security investigation into Tesla's "Passenger Play" feature that allowed video games to be played on touch screens in cars when in motion.
Tesla said last week that the feature would now only be available when a car is parked after NHTSA announced the preliminary evaluation of the gaming feature.
The administration is also investigating the automaker for at least 11 accidents involving the autopilot and other autonomous driving features.
These collisions occurred when Tesla cars collided with emergency vehicles arriving at previous accident scenes, resulting in 17 injuries and one death, according to the report.
Shares of Tesla fell 1.1% in pre-market trading on Thursday, but then rallied.
The stock has gained about 54% this year.
Tesla has not responded to a request for comment on the recalls.
