Here is the most important information for the last night of the year:

Corona rules

Stricter contact restrictions have been in effect in Bavaria since Tuesday - also for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.

That means: no more than ten people can celebrate inside and outside.

Children under the age of 14 are not counted.

For unvaccinated people: You can only celebrate with your own household and two other people.

The good news: The curfew in restaurants (10 p.m. to 5 a.m.) has been lifted for New Year's Eve.

Collection prohibition

People are not allowed to gather in popular places on New Year's Eve.

As the KVR has determined, this applies in Munich to: pedestrian zone and Viktualienmarkt (alcohol is not allowed here either);

Baldeplatz, Friedensengel, Olympiaberg and adjacent green areas;

Nymphenburg Palace as well as Wittelsbacherbrücke, Reichenbachbrücke and Corneliusbrücke.

When the group size is ten, it's over.

Otherwise there is a risk of fines.

Firecracker ban

No firecrackers are allowed to be sold nationwide this year.

Some will still ignite fireworks - for example from the old stock or purchases from neighboring countries.

In the environmental zone within the Mittlerer Ring, firing is prohibited anyway.

If the people in charge at Hellabrunn Zoo have their way, missiles should be avoided entirely - especially in the vicinity of the zoo.

MVG offer

The subway runs through on New Year's Eve - every 20 minutes even after midnight.

All night buses and trams are also on the move more often than usual.

They run every 15 minutes.

The weekend schedule applies during the day.
