On Boxing Day, there were violent corona protests in Schweinfurt.
Now the next protest is apparently imminent.
Schweinfurt - After the violent Corona protests in Schweinfurt, the police are also expecting unannounced meetings in the Lower Franconian city on the first Sunday in January.
"We see a certain mobilization on the Internet and will be on site with emergency services." A spokesman for the Lower Franconia police headquarters said on Friday.
The city of Schweinfurt is expecting "a further influx and a number of participants of over 2500 people", as stated in a general decree that the city issued in view of the demonstrations.

In particular, it caused a stir that a four-year-old child was slightly injured by pepper spray when his mother apparently wanted to break the police chain.

“Corona walks” - citizens of Schweinfurt oppose unannounced gatherings
Several citizens of the Lower Franconian city have meanwhile opposed the unannounced gatherings under the term "Schweinfurt Declaration". "The slogans of a vocal minority that the state is acting like a dictatorship are absurd and ridicule all victims of dictatorships, past and present," the statement said. The signatories call for people to trust the recommendations of science and stay away from the meetings.
Unregistered meetings in Schweinfurt are only allowed to be permanent since Wednesday (December 29th), so no walks in the true sense of the word.
In addition, distance and a mask are compulsory.
According to the police, the primary goal is to keep the expected gathering on Sunday stationary and to check mask requirements and distance.
The Nuremberg riot police will also be on site to provide support.
