The fire brigade fought tonight (Saturday night) in a large fire that broke out in a residential building on Malachi Street in the city of Petah Tikva, during which she was seriously injured and evacuated for medical treatment.
Four teams of firefighters under the command of Rabbi Reshef Tamir Cohen operated in the building, a private home and rescued the woman who suffered from smoke inhalation and burns.
Elhanan Shoshani, a paramedic from the rescue union who was present at the scene, said: "Fire crews rescued an elderly woman from the apartment in critical condition. With the help of a paramedic, we provided her with initial treatment at the scene and then she was evacuated to the hospital, suffering from burns and breathing problems."
