(ANSA) - NORCIA (PERUGIA), 01 JAN - "New Year's Eve with Covid and closed in the house, but we have experienced worse moments with the earthquake and above all with the first lockdown": to tell ANSA it is Pamela Guerra, a young mother from Norcia forced to spend New Year's Eve in their Saeas with their two young children and her husband Massimiliano.
"Both me and my baby Samuel, born on August 24, 2016, the day of the first major shock that destroyed Amatrice, are coronavirus positive, but fortunately we are fine", says Pamela. "The child did not have any symptoms at all - he adds -, while I, who am vaccinated as well as my husband, had a bit of a fever just one day. Massimiliano and little Anastasia instead tested negative for the swab, despite the fact that here we are always in contact due to confined spaces ".
"Despite this situation - the woman continues - New Year's Eve lasera we did not miss the dinner based on Castelluccio lentils and zampone and a first of fish".
"We are locked up in our SAE since Christmas Eve, because we discovered Samuel positive at Covid on December 24 following a swab that had been asked of us by the school, otherwise we probably would not have known", says Pamela again. "Being locked up for many days in this narrow space of the Sae with two small children is not easy - the woman underlines - but in my opinion it was longer during the first lockdown and this pandemic emergency was certainly worse than the earthquake. The earthquake caused the houses and everything to collapse. the rest, but it allowed us to stay together and strengthen each other, Covid has destroyed the sense of community, it has led us to isolate ourselves ".
"What do I hope for from 2022? May it be a peaceful year. But in the meantime I hope that we can return negative to the virus as soon as possible and finally go out into the open air", concludes Pamela.
