The announced penalty interest of the Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg annoy bank customers.
Rüdiger Förster from Putzbrunn is now going all out.
Putzbrunn - The devil is in the details.
The information about penalty interest reached the tax advisor Rüdiger Förster well hidden on the back of a letter from the Kreissparkasse.
"Mentioned casually and in a nicely claused manner," says Putzbrunner.
He is angry.
"In my opinion, the new price list sent to us customers is completely excessive," says Förster.
In some cases, the fees - especially post fees - would be tripled.
Rüdiger Förster told the bank: not with me.
He refused to give his consent.
Custody fee for bank customers
For the new year, the Kreissparkasse (KSK) requires a custody fee, also known as penalty interest.
These are fees that banks levy on their customers' deposits.
The banks charge 0.5 percent.
There is also a 0.1 percent administration fee for business customers.
The fees must be paid from the first euro on the business account.
So far, the Sparkasse has waived the penalty interest.
That’s over now.
The tax advisor Rüdiger Förster has informed his commercial clients of the cost increases.
You shouldn't be surprised by the price hikes, he says.
Termination Risk
"I am aware that I am taking the risk of receiving a termination of the account details from the KSK after more than 25 years as a private customer and after more than 16 years as a business customer," says Putzbrunner.
But that's what he wants.
The KSK Munich Starnberg Ebersberg is not his only bank account.
Penalty interest - that's the name of the specter of savers and business people.
The Kreissparkasse München Starnberg Ebersberg is reducing the tax exemptions considerably at the turn of the year.
That brings trouble with customers.
It is not yet known whether the customer from the Munich district will be terminated.
"As a customer-oriented and local bank, KSK is dead for me," says Förster.
