New Year in Strasbourg: two police officers injured, at least twelve arrests

The night of New Year's Eve was marked by numerous incidents in Strasbourg and in the outskirts of the city. The police in particular came under mortar fire.


This New Year's Eve was marked by "

strong activity

" in Strasbourg where twelve people were arrested, including four for "

urban violence

", and where two police officers were slightly injured.

According to the prefecture, the security forces "

used grenades

" in the popular district of Hautepierre "

to respond to mortar fire and disperse people

".

So far, 12 people have been arrested, four in connection with urban violence,

Vehicles were set on fire in several neighborhoods, another police source said.

" in Schiltigheim, near Strasbourg.

Six units of mobile forces (UFM), or 360 officials, were mobilized for the night of the New Year, as well as nearly 400 police officers and a "
