Söder in New Year's address: Healing and reconciling society
In the address given on New Year's Eve in
BR television is to be broadcast, Söder complained that the pandemic had opened rifts in society, which unfortunately deepened.
“We must therefore not only see Corona virologically, but must also try to heal and reconcile our society again.
That is certainly the most important task besides fighting the pandemic. "
Söder admits: "We have to explain better"
Söder admitted: “I have learned myself that just announcing measures is not enough. We have to explain better, take more time for people's worries and try to take everyone with us. ”According to Bavaria's Prime Minister, nobody should be left alone with their worries and doubts. "Because even if the mind accepts it, the soul sometimes does not keep up." But he emphasized: "On the other hand, we resolutely defy all those who try to undermine our democracy under the guise of Corona."
In the end, vaccination is the only real protection in this pandemic, said Söder and emphasized: "Even if you have to be vaccinated three or four times - what is a small peek against protection against a potentially serious or even fatal disease?" Chancellor also said Olaf Scholz (SPD) had put the subject of Corona in focus in his New Year's claim.
