According to legend, in ancient Greek stories, when the mathematician Archimedes took a bath, he suddenly thought that he could use water to measure the volume of an irregular object—the crown.

This "light flashing" moment is his "Aha-moment" (Aha-moment), which means to marvel at something epiphany. It is a pleasant and special experience.

For Freddy, who has traveled to more than 40 countries, one of his "aha moments" in his life happened when locals led a tour of the slums in India.

He recently developed a mobile voice navigation app with his partner, inviting experts, regional organizations, and neighborhoods to record audio guides, allowing users to "travel with the master" at any time; hope that through in-depth travel in the community, everyone will find themselves "Aha Moment", "I hope users can "travel to wonder", travel must have depth, and this depth needs someone to guide and inspire."

Luo Weihong (Freddy) loves traveling and has traveled to more than 40 countries, hoping to enhance the public's knowledge and understanding of the world and culture through different cross-cultural activities.

The founder loves traveling and worked in a multinational company

Luo Weihong used to work as an intern in the human operations department of Google (India) and vice chairman of the human resources management department of AIESEC (Macedonia). After returning to Hong Kong, he founded the Intercultural Education Club, hoping to promote the public through different cross-cultural activities Knowledge and understanding of the world and culture.

He loves traveling. He recalled that when he traveled to India as a backpacker when he was 18 or 9 years old, he had to understand the local religion, architecture, history and even food culture for thousands of years in a short period of time. ") However, I felt that I was not happy enough, until I met a local history student in Mumbai and took him to travel around, and I was amazed that it was "very positive."

Under the epidemic situation, he and his partner Till Kraemer from Germany saw that the guided tours in the market were subject to many restrictions, so they thought: How about using technology to solve the problem?

"In the departments of architecture and history in universities, the most popular ones are often the study tours. For example, you can watch the details of the Bank of China for a minute." Luo Weihong pointed out that students generally want to get out of the classroom and learn from scholars and professors. To see Hong Kong with his vision, but the "master" has limited time, and he only takes it once a year. How can I keep the "essence"?

They remembered that they love to listen to podcasts (audiobooks) on weekdays. If experts, professors, old neighborhoods, or local people are walking around the community, can they "participate" guided tours anytime, anywhere?

So they started to develop a mobile application Storius, and successively received funding from the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund and the Cyberport Incubation Program.

Luo Weihong hopes that everyone will find their own "Aha Moments" through in-depth travel in the community.

In-depth tour without a guide and reliable audio guide

It is hard to find a ticket for the free guided tour of Bishop Hill in Sham Shui Po, but Luo Weihong said that they hope to get rid of the restrictions of general guided tours and achieve "in-depth guided tours without guides" anytime, anywhere.

For example, in terms of language, even if the guide is proficient in biliteracy and trilingual, it is difficult to take care of it in a group. For the content of the guided tour, the participants have different backgrounds. Department students will find it too shallow and boring.” The content of the Storius app allows users to play content at their own pace.

In addition, the user can freely choose the guided tour route, "You can follow the theology and then go with the master of history, and if you see a cafe right after you go up and down, you can turn to the small shop tour, just like you go to Admiralty Station anytime Change cars."

The industry questioned the program to grab the job of the tour guide

Luo Weihong said that some in-depth tours and expert tour groups charge about HK$380 per person. He described the use of Storius App as "you can listen at ten times the price." I don’t know how to eat. We don’t think it’s because the times have begun to change.” Luo Xiao pointed out that Storius is aimed at young people between 20 and 30 years old. “Aba and other generations” don’t know how to use it, and are currently in contact with experts in the past. Scholars mostly reacted positively to the plan.

At present, those who are responsible for storytelling in the App include cultural experts such as the Senior Citizen Society Cultural Heritage Resource Center and the scholars of the Department of History of Baptist University. There are also people who live near designated locations and have studied for many years. Another example is the Sham Shui Po Homeless Association. The homeless instructor explained the housing challenges and grassroots life in Hong Kong, "How about seeing the community outside of Great South Street? How can we bring out the things that we have ignored?"

On this day, he took us to Stanley and revealed that a series of military history stories about Murray House, Eight Houses, etc. will be added. He hopes that Storius can inspire public appreciation and curiosity about the cultural heritage around him, and the future It is also planned to extend this technology to other regions, so that people from all over the world can discover new ways to travel besides reading Wiki information.

Storius has received funding from the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund and the Cyberport Incubation Program, and plans to extend this technology to other regions in the future.
