A New Year's Eve under pressure.
Friday evening in the Yvelines was marked by attacks on the police, dozens of burnt cars and several arrests.
The facts observed are however down compared to last year, due to a large-scale mobilization of police and gendarmes.

According to
Le Parisien
, in detail, the authorities identified seventeen attacks by throwing projectiles, which led to a response with stun grenades and defense bullet launchers in eleven cases.
Twenty-seven cars were set on fire and nine others were burned by the spread of fire.

All the sensitive areas of the department were affected, such as Mantes-la-Jolie, Mantes-la-Ville, Limay, Les Mureaux, Chanteloup-les-Vignes, Trappes, La Verrière, Les Clayes-sous-Bois and two cars were even burned in Loges-en-Josas
”, indicates a police officer to the regional daily.
"Quiet night"
Four suspects were arrested in Clayes-sous-Bois for throwing mortars, and six in Sartrouville.
In this last town, a police officer was punched in the face while around 2 am the departmental intervention company was attacked by fifteen attackers throwing stones.
The six suspects who could be arrested are between 19 and 26 years old.

The SGP Unit union believes, through the voice of François Bersani to Le

with less than fifty incidents of urban violence in the department, this New Year's Eve can be described as calm compared to previous episodes.
The police were particularly taken to task in Mantes-la-Jolie and Trappes.
But it is at the cost of a particularly strong mobilization of the security forces that night with 1900 officials from Yvelines and two CRS companies on the ground to protect and rescue the Yvelinois

In 2021, the department had recorded nearly 400 attacks by police targeted by projectiles or mortars.
