The Prime Minister first commented on the "Rosh HaAyin Summit:" The meeting was within the bounds of security and economic discourse "• However, Bennett added:" I personally do not intend to meet with Abu Mazen for a variety of reasons I have mentioned in the past. "

"There are different positions in the government and mixed left and right, and this is part of life":

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett this evening (Sunday) officially responded for the first time to the "summit of Rosh HaAyin" of Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen.

"As for the defense minister's meeting, it was done with my full approval. The defense minister spoke to me in advance and I saw no reason to ban it," Bennett said during a press conference where he spoke about dealing with the fifth wave.

"There are different positions in government and mixed left and right and that's part of life," Bennett said.

"The defense minister is responsible for providing security in Judea and Samaria and there is a basket of tools and as part of a legitimacy this is such a meeting. The meeting discusses within the confines of security and economic discourse, and not political.

As you may recall, last week's meeting caused a stir in the political system in general and in the government in particular, with some ministers also speaking out publicly against the defense minister's move.
