The arrested 25-year-old male driver surnamed Wu Baomao has been charged with the crime of "dangerous driving causing the death of another person". The case will appear in Kwun Tong Magistracy tomorrow (3rd) morning.

The incident occurred at about 6:10 on New Year’s Eve last Friday (31st). A BMW was driving along Tai Yau Street in San Po Kong towards Choi Hung Road. When it reached Tai Yau Street near Pal Tat Street, it reportedly lost control and rammed into it. After a taxi, it crossed the line and shoveled the footpath at high speed, knocking down a number of passers-by and ramming into a shop that had already closed the gate.
In the accident, a 23-year-old woman surnamed Shi died on the spot, another 63-year-old surnamed Li was sent to the hospital and died, and the remaining three injured were sent to the hospital for treatment.
The male BMW driver involved reported dizziness and was sent to hospital, and was arrested by the police on suspicion of "dangerous driving causing death."
