When a 28-year-old tried to turn off a gas-fired fireplace, an explosion occurred.
The man is seriously injured.
Now the investigators want to examine the gas bottle that exploded.
Melle - At a New Year's Eve party in Melle in the Osnabrück district, a 28-year-old was critically injured in a gas explosion. In a single-family house, ten people between the ages of 25 and 28 would have celebrated and wanted to end the party early Saturday morning, the police said. When a 28 year old man tried to turn off a gas fireplace in a pool house, the fireplace exploded. On Monday, the investigators want to examine, among other things, the gas bottle that had exploded more closely to clarify the cause of the accident.
According to the police, the inventory of the pool house caught fire as a result of the force of the explosion, and the 28-year-old from Osnabrück suffered life-threatening burns.
He was therefore transferred to a special clinic in Hanover by rescue helicopter.
The remaining nine people were slightly to moderately injured and treated in hospitals.
The fire brigade put out the fire in the pool house and secured several gas bottles.
