A prosecutor's statement was filed today (Sunday) against Ben Nachmani, 23, of Afula, on suspicion of robbing a branch that robbed a branch of the Postal Bank in Afula and took packages totaling tens of thousands of shekels.

The suspect fled and soon after the police got their hands on him.

His detention was extended today, until Wednesday, at which time an indictment will also be filed against him.

The robbery occurred last Thursday, when Nachmani entered the post office bank branch while holding a sharp object in his hand and a cloth bag.

He wore a corona mask, wore sunglasses and gloves.

Nachmani went to the reception desk and demanded that the clerk hand over money to him.

The frightened clerk handed him several packages of NIS 21,000.

Nachmani took some of the packages and escaped.

The locked doors of the branch made it difficult for him to escape and he managed to get out after smashing one of the doors.

In his escape, the sunglasses fell inside the branch.

Police arrived at the scene and apprehended him shortly afterwards.

His detention was extended several times in the Magistrate's Court in Nazareth.

His detention was extended again today, until Wednesday, when he will also be indicted by the Northern District Attorney's Office.
