Without big celebrations and the ban on the sale of firecrackers and rockets, it was the foreseeable quiet New Year's Eve in the Weilheim-Schongau district.

However, there were one or two incidents around it that preoccupied the police.

At all three police stations in the district there was the same statement on New Year: “We hardly had any missions” and “It was very quiet”, the summary of the police stations in Weilheim, Schongau and Penzberg was short and sweet.

Only two reports related to New Year's Eve made it into the Weilheim police report.

Mailbox splinter damaged car

Accordingly, a previously unknown perpetrator detonated a firecracker in a mailbox in an apartment building in Weilheimer Eichenweg around 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

According to the police, the pressure split the mailbox into several pieces, some of which were thrown onto the car parked on the street, causing scratches.

Property damage to the mailbox and car amounted to 1250 euros.

On New Year's Eve, strangers celebrated on a hill east of Gut Dietlhofen, about halfway between Gut Dietlhofen and Schörghof on a bench on the edge of the forest.

After the seats apparently ran out, the perpetrator or the perpetrators smashed the window in the chapel about 200 meters away and stole stools from it, which could be found again when the facts were taken in the area of the bank.

The damage is estimated at around 300 euros.

The Weilheim police station receives information on both cases on tel. 0881/6400.

Bangs thrown from a moving car

The day before New Year's Eve there was a bang on the Trifthofanbinder in Weilheim. At around 4.15 p.m., a 47-year-old from Weilheim was driving in a south-easterly direction on Thursday when a New Year's Eve was thrown from the open passenger window of a black Seat with a Munich license plate driving in front of him. This landed on the green strip next to the roadway and detonated exactly at the moment when the Weilheimer drove past it in his car. The 47-year-old and his co-driver were terrified, the Weilheimer tore his steering wheel. Fortunately, there was no traffic accident, the police said. The Weilheim Police Inspectorate is now initiating investigations into dangerous traffic interference via the license plate on the black seat.

Two dog owners who got into an argument in Huglfing also didn't get off to a good start into the new year.

At around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, a 39-year-old Huglfinger was walking with his two unleashed dogs in Friedhofsweg when, according to the police report, one of his dogs suddenly attacked the leashed dog of a 58-year-old Habacher.

Then there was a verbal and, according to the current state of investigation, also a physical dispute between the two people, in which the Habacherin was injured.

The 39-year-old Huglfinger is now being investigated for bodily harm, among other things.

Drunk people were also caught

The fact that alcohol was also consumed on New Year's Eve is shown by the case of a 21-year-old from Weilheim, who was subjected to a traffic control on New Year's Day at 2.15 a.m. in the Oderding area. Since the officials could smell alcohol, a breath alcohol test was carried out on the young woman, which showed a value well above 0.5 per thousand. The 21-year-old receives a complaint and has to expect a driving ban soon, according to the police.

During another drunk drive, the question arises: Did he continue to pickle diligently on New Year's Eve?

Or did he think he was sober again?

The fact is that the Schongau police were reported on Saturday at around 3 p.m. a car driver who was on the B17 in a serpentine way.

The suspicious road user was subjected to a traffic control in Schongau.

Since the 52-year-old driver from the Unterallgäu district had a clear smell of alcohol, an alcohol test was carried out - and the result was an impressive 1.62 per mille.

A blood sample was then taken in the hospital and the driver's license obtained, the police said.

Drunk road users are now awaiting a complaint for being drunk in traffic.
