After Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked failed to pass the Citizenship Law, she is now trying alternative ways to pass it this time through Likud members.
Israel Today has learned that Shaked has in recent weeks turned to several Likud members, including Yuval Steinitz and Avi Dichter, and offered them to raise the Citizenship Law on their behalf and that she would make sure to get him support in the coalition.
Shaked, through mediators, is trying to persuade the MKs from the Likud to register an achievement in their name, and she in turn will benefit from the fact that the law will be passed. But the Likud responded in the negative.

Last July, the Minister of the Interior tried to pass the Citizenship Law in the Knesset without success after MK Shikli voted against it. Citizenship, but due to a dispute over the details of the law, negotiations exploded and the Citizenship Law fell through.
A Likud source said that "Ayelet Shaked is trying to pass the law in every possible way. Through Simcha Rotman, through Dichter and Steinitz, she turns and turns, she wants to break the ranks with us. She wants someone to take such a step and put us in a corner to get her out of the law. Our support for the law is for the Prime Minister, Meretz and Labor to vote against and say that they uphold their values and that way everyone will be satisfied.
If she manages to do that she will brag, and rightly so, how she managed to manipulate us.

In every possible way
The Interior Minister's Office stated that "the Interior Minister intends to submit a government bill of the Citizenship Law to the Ministerial Committee in the coming weeks. Shaked is determined to pass the law out of national responsibility and responsibility for the security of the State of Israel."
