Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
This evening, the Israeli occupation forces suppressed a demonstration in support of the Palestinian prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who has been on hunger strike for 139 days in Umm al-Fahm city in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948.
The Palestinian Wafa Agency stated that the occupation forces stormed the city and assaulted the Palestinians participating in the demonstration and arrested a number of them.
The prisoner, Abu Hawash, suffers from a critical health condition and is in an intermittent coma, in light of warnings by doctors that the worst may happen at any moment.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including about 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
